A key fob won't open the door
Your fob stopped opening the door — this almost always gets sorted quickly. The main thing is to work out whether the problem is your fob or the door itself.
01Just your fob, or everyone's?
Ask a neighbour or a colleague.
- Only yours failing — the problem is the fob.
- Everyone's failing — it's the lock, the reader or the power.
02If it's just your fob
The fob may have failed or been removed from the system.
Contact your property manager — a new fob is programmed quickly.
03If it's everyone
Look at the reader:
- is the indicator lit
- does it beep when a fob is held to it.
If the door won't hold shut on the magnet at all — that's a different problem.
04After a power cut
A power cut by itself doesn't erase fobs.
A strong surge, however, can damage the controller — if access didn't come back with the power, you need a specialist.
If access didn't come back
Tell us: one fob or all of them, what the reader shows — we'll come and restore access.
